‘The UK’s cheapest sex worker in town’: Psychotherapist brings sex workers out of the shadows

Members of the public have been asked to share their favourite places to find a ‘cheap’ prostitute in the UK.

Veronica Lester, a newly-qualified psychotherapist, decided to take to the web to prove that they exist and to introduce her website – which she hopes will “keep the topic of the existence of sex workers alive”.

Her post has already been shared over 20,000 times.

Lester explains: ‘Sleeping with a stranger for money or financial gain has always been a taboo subject, yet none of us wants to think the opposite and pretend we’ve never done it.

‘Our mothers never talked about the topic and our teachers never talked about it at school; society, our friends, are all pretty much silent on it.

‘We are talking about something that’s been very much classified as taboo…

‘It seems like Britain is the last free country in Europe, which may be why our public feels so comfortable talking about any aspect of sex and relationships but not about sex for money.’

She continued: ‘Sex workers are the forgotten workers of Britain, without the national press or a newspaper to champion them, there are only organisations and forums that talk about it, what we don’t have is a free forum which talks about it.

‘That’s where I come in: I have my own fun with it and entertain you with these refreshing chats.’

Lester began with a simple question – where in Britain are the most affordable places to find a ‘cheap’ prostitute?

She wrote: ‘I am looking for the UK’s cheapest Red Light District, providing the cheapest saffe sex worker in town.

‘Use Twitter hashtag #CheapSexInTheUK and then reply with an option of a suggested location, these will then appear in my Ask Polly thread in these areas.’

In the replies, there were various responses – with most venues either too far to walk, too expensive or simply not affordable.
